WATER: WINTER FLOW

Winter is the time for reflection and our energies naturally flow inward. This period is associated with the Water Element and the energy system of the kidneys. 

The exercises in this flow combine Qi Gong movements that help promote energy flow in the kidney+bladder energy  system and help cultivate the feelings of gratitude and calm.

WOOD: SPRING FLOW

Spring is the time for renewal and growth. It is a period that is associated to the Wood Element and the energy system of the liver+gallbladder.

The exercises in the springtime flow promote regeneration by releasing tension blocked in ligaments and tendons. It is a perfect time to release blockages and renew our life energy.

Summer is the time for expansion. This period is associated with the Fire Element and the energy system of the heart, small intestine, pericardium + triple warmer energy systems. The light of the radiant sun is most vibrant and the natural world is at its peak of growth. 

To harness and align with this incredible energy, the summer flow incorporates exercises to uplift, energize and offers a deep connection to the natural world. 

Because heat and fire are associated with summer, the exercises are designed to cool and calm the heart energy, mindfully balancing the body’s need to over-expend.

METAL: FALL FLOW

Fall is the time to let go and release all that is no longer needed. An inward energetic shift begins. This season is associated with the Metal Element and the lung + large intestine energy systems.  It is the perfect time to tonify  the Wei Qi (according to TCM a kind of force field that keeps negative energies from entering our body) as well.   


The series of exercises in the fall flow are formulated to strengthen and nourish the lung +large intestine energy systems, fortifying the WeiQi and counters the emotions of grief and sadness while cultivating the energy of courage.

EARTH: LATE SUMMER FLOW

EARTH: LATE SUMMER FLOW

6 week course

In the ancient Five Element Theory of Chinese medicine, there is a short window of time when the vibrant energies of spring/summer transition into the more introspective energies of the fall/winter. 

This special transitional period is represented by the Earth Element, which is one of balance, harmony and nourishment.

In this flow, the Qi Gong exercises incorporate the spleen+ stomach energy system, and grounding earth energy in order to help us stay in harmony with nature’s rhythm.
